Change of purpose
If you change the company's purpose, there are a few things you need to consider. We are happy to support you in this.
Firstly, it is important that the company's purpose is neither too generic nor too detailed. For this purpose, you are welcome to send us the new purpose either in the form of keywords or as a pre-formulated text. We will check your information and ensure that the new purpose can be registered. If we need to make any changes to the purpose, we will inform you immediately.
Secondly, it is important that the purpose of your company and the company name do not contradict each other. For example, Hotel Post AG cannot include the manufacture of furniture as its sole purpose. However, it is not a problem if Hotel Post AG also wants to operate a restaurant as part of its business, although this was not explicitly listed in the purpose.
To ensure that their purpose can be registered in this way, we also check whether the purpose has been formulated neutrally. Promotional texts are usually rejected by the Commercial Register. To avoid a costly subsequent certification, we will also inform you in advance in such cases.
We are happy to support you in adapting your company's purpose. Below we have summarised the three most important points for this mutation for you:
- Avoid phrases that are too generic or too detailed.
- The company name and the company purpose cannot conflict with each other.
- Promotional texts in the company purpose will not be approved by the trade register.
You are welcome to give us your desired purpose either in full or in keywords. We will check the purpose for you and, if necessary, make adjustments for you.

FAQ about change of purpose
Here you will find the four most important questions about change of purposes. Answers to other topics can be found in our FAQs of the Commercial Register.
You can indicate in the form during the ordering process whether you would like to order a certi-fied extract from the commercial register. We will then order this for you. The costs for this extract are around CHF 50.00 from the Commercial Register Office.
The partners or shareholders are represented for the notarisation by means of a power of attorney and therefore do not have to appear personally before our notary.
Yes, but the power of attorney is only valid for the execution of the legal transaction listed on it. As soon as this is completed, the power of attorney automatically expires.
You can use our form for a non-binding and free calculation of fees at any time. For more complex enquiries or a written quotation, you can send us the changes you would like to make to the e-mail address crs@moneyhouse.ch. We will be happy to send you a quote after receiving your request.
