Die Stiftung ermöglicht einer breiten Öffentlichkeit den altersgerechten Zugang zur Bibel als Kulturgut und prägendes, historisches Literaturwerk der Menschheitsgeschichte. Die Stiftung stellt ihre Sammlung der Wissenschaft zu Studienzwecken zur Verfügung und trägt zur Erforschung der Bibel und ihrer Geschichte bei. Die Stiftung kann alle Tätigkeiten entfalten, die in den Bereich des Stiftungszwecks fallen oder mit ihm in einem sachlichen Zusammenhang stehen. Insbesondere kann die Stiftung Ausstellungen von Objekten der eigenen Sammlungen sowie von Leihgaben Dritter organisieren und durchführen sowie zusätzliche Gegenstände und Dokumente rund um die Bibel und die Krippen erwerben. Im Übrigen kann die Stiftung mit geeigneten Institutionen und Organisationen kooperieren, solche unterstützen oder selber errichten und betreiben. Die Stiftung erfüllt ihren Zweck auf dem Gebiet der ganzen Schweiz und im Ausland. Die Stiftung verfolgt weder Kultus- noch Erwerbs- oder Selbsthilfezwecke.
