Die Stiftung bezweckt a) die Unterstützung und Förderung der Aus- und Weiterbildung von Lehrlingen und spezialisierten Fachkräften auf den Gebieten der Holzbildhauerei und des ökologisch sinnvollen Gartenbaus; b) die Erhaltung und Schaffung von Lehrstellen und von sonstigen Gelegenheiten zur Aus- und Weiterbildung auf den genannten Gebieten; c) die Leistung von Beiträgen an Institutionen, die analoge Zwecke verfolgen unter Einschluss von Gedenkstätten und Museen, und an die Schaffung, die künstlerische Ausschmückung und den Unterhalt beispielhafter Wohn-, Garten- und Parkanlagen, die der Öffentlichkeit zugänglich sind; d) die Schaffung und jährliche Verleihung eines Eisenring-Preises zur Auszeichnung schweizerischer und ausländischer Persönlichkeiten, auch von Lehrlingen und von Fachkräften in Aus- und Weiterbildung, die sich im Sinn und Rahmen von lit. a, b oder c vorstehend sowie ganz besonders um einen beispielhaften, ökologisch sinnvollen Gartenbau verdient gemacht haben; e) die Zusammenarbeit mit Stiftungen im In- und Ausland, die gleichgerichteten Zwecken dienen sollen.
