Der Verein bezweckt die Vertretung der Mitglieder bei der Gestaltung, Entwicklung und Umsetzung der Ausbildungen im Sozialbereich im Kanton Bern. Der Verein versteht sich als kantonsweit tätige Organisation der Arbeitswelt im Sinne der Berufsbildungsgesetze auf Ebene Bund und Kanton. Der Verein verfolgt insbesondere folgende Ziele: a Funktion als Hauptansprechpartner der zuständigen kantonalen Behörde für die Berufsbildung im Sozialbereich; b. Die Berufsbildung in den Institutionen des Sozialbereichs gemäss deren Bedürfnissen festzulegen und zu fördern und dabei die speziellen Anforderungen der jeweiligen Arbeitsfelder soweit als nötig zu berücksichtigen; c. Die Nachwuchsförderung, insbesondere in der Berufsinformation und bei der Nachwuchswerbung zur Sicherung des kantonalen Versorgungsauftrags, zu unterstützen und zu fördern; d. Die Qualität und die Weiterentwicklung der Ausbildungen zu fördern und die nationalen Vorgaben umzusetzen; e. Die Berufsbildung mit den zuständigen staatlichen und privaten Instanzen zu koordinieren; f. Die Zusammenarbeit mit gleich gelagerten Organisationen und der Schweizerischen Dachorganisation der Arbeitswelt Soziales (SAVOIRSOCIAL) zu pflegen und zu fördern.
