Der Verein verfolgt seinen Zweck u.a. durch: a) Beratung und Unterstützung der Eltern und Bezugspersonen, Erfahrungsaustausch und Veranstaltungen; b) Information der Eltern und Kontakthilfe zu Behörden, Schulen, Spitälern etc.; c) Führung von Kindertagesstätten (Kinderhaus Imago) für Kinder mit und ohne Handicap und einer Tagesschule für blinde, seh- und mehrfach behinderte Kinder und weiteren Dienstleistungsangeboten; d) Öffentlichkeitsarbeit, Mittelbeschaffung, Zusammenarbeit mit Behindertenorganisationen sowie Förderung und Schaffung neuer Einrichtungen. Der Verein ist parteipolitisch und konfessionell neutral. Er verfolgt keine kommerziellen Zwecke understrebt keinen Gewinn.
