Die Aufgaben von SCSD sind: Aufbau einer Koordinationsplattform und Aktivitätszentrum für den Informationsaustausch zwischen Mitgliedern, Partnern, Kunden, Industrie- und offiziellen Stellen damit hochwirksame Infrastrukturprojekte nach den Grundsätzen der UN-Ziele für nachhaltige Entwicklung realisiert werden können; Durchführung von Kontaktveranstaltungen und Tagungen für den offenen Austausch von Wissen, Projektinformationen und den Aufbau von Kontakten im In- und Ausland; Ausweitung der privaten Investitionen für sichere, bankfähige Projekte für die Entwicklung von ökologischen Infrastrukturprojekten; Unterstützung von KMU's zu mehr Geschäftsmöglichkeiten. Diese Aufgaben nimmt SCSD wahr, geprägt von der Verantwortung und der Solidarität gegenüber der Gesellschaft, der Umwelt und dem technologischen Fortschritt. Sie ist parteipolitisch und konfessionell neutral. Sie qualifiziert sich durch deren Förderung der UN-Ziele für nachhaltige Entwicklung und Befolgung der "Mensch zuerst" Prinzipien.
