Die Stiftung bezweckt, Organisationen und Institutionen im Inland und ausnahmsweise auch im Ausland zu unterstützen, die sich für hilfs- und ratbedürftige Personen einsetzen; sie kann bedürftige Personen auch direkt unterstützen, sofern deren Bedürftigkeit festgestellt wurde. Vergabungen ins Ausland sollen nur in Ausnahmefällen wie z.B. bei Naturkatastrophen erfolgen; allgemeine Not in notleidenden Ländern oder an Organisationen, welche entsprechende Projekte unterstützen, sollen nicht unterstützt werden (Ausnahme: Médecins Sans Frontières), es sei denn, eine Schweizerin oder ein Schweizer engagieren sich vor Ort persönlich, um Not zu lindern. Auch sollen keine Beiträge für medizinische Forschung, Kunst und Kultur gesprochen werden. Im Vordergrund stehen Vergabungen - an Organisationen, welche notleidende Personen in der Schweiz unterstützen - an alleinerziehende Mütter/Väter, indem ihnen z.B. die Kinderbetreuung während eines Erholungsurlaubs finanziert wird oder sonst ausbleibende Ferien ermöglicht werden - zur Linderung menschlicher Not, soweit keine staatliche Unterstützung erfolgt - an alte - hilfsbedürftige Menschen - an Personen, welche kurz vor der Pensionierung die Stelle verlieren und deshalb in Not geraten - an unbemittelte Jugendliche, junge Erwachsene, Invalide, Gebrechliche oder an alleinerziehende Mütter für Aus- und Weiterbildung - an Personen - vor allem Mädchen und Frauen-, welche aufgrund psychischer oder physischer häuslicher Gewalt auf Hilfe angewiesen sind (auch Frauen- und Männerhäuser für Gewaltopfer) - an in Not geratene Familien.
