Die Stiftung hat zum Zweck, die Kenntnis und die alltagspraktische Umsetzung der Kinderrechte gemäss der UN-Konvention über die Rechte des Kindes in Basel, in dessen Region und in der Schweiz zu fördern. Ein besonderer Fokus soll dabei auf die sogenannten Beteiligungsrechte der Kinder zu liegen kommen. Die Stiftung tut dies in erster Linie durch Fundraising und durch eine dadurch ermöglichte kontinuierliche finanzielle Unterstützung der Arbeit des Vereins Kinderbüro Basel, wobei sie sowohl Beiträge zur freien Verfügung (freie Spenden) als auch Beiträge zur Finanzierung konkreter Projekte (zweckgebundene Spenden) an den Verein Kinderbüro Basel ausrichten darf. Es besteht ein Zweckänderungsvorbehalt gemäss Art. 86a ZGB.
