Die Stiftung bezweckt die schweizweite Förderung und Unterstützung der Berufsbildung in den Informations- und Kommunikationstechnologien, mit dem Hauptziel, insbesondere im Informatikbereich genügend Nachwuchs für die Schweizer Wirtschaft sicherzustellen. Im Fokus seht dabei hauptsächlich die Grundbildung wie auch die strukturierte berufliche Aus- und Weiterbildung (höhere Berufsbildung). In zweiter Linie können Projekte in Schulen und Hochschulen unterstützt werden, soweit diese der Erreichung des Hauptziels förderlich sind. Die Stiftung genehmigt und finanziert in erster Linie Programme der IT-Berufsbildung nach Vorprüfung und entsprechendem Antrag von ICTswitzerland oder einer anderen von ICTswitzerland dazu ermächtigten Organisation. Gewinn und Kapital der Stiftung sind ausschliesslich dem umschriebenen Zweck gewidmet. Die Stiftung verfolgt keine kommerziellen Zwecke und erstrebt keinen Gewinn.
