Die Stiftung bezweckt die Förderung und Forschung, insbesondere die Entwicklung, Validierung und Erleichterung der Implementierung von sensitiven, reliablen und spezifischen digitalen Biomarken, die erlauben werden, Krankheitsverläufe bei Multiple Sklerose und anderen neuroimmunologischen und neurodegenerativen Erkrankungen in ihren wesentlichen Dimensionen zu charakterisieren und damit die Entwicklung neuer Therapien zu erleichtern sowie den Verlauf der Erkrankungen vorauszusagen und die Grundlagen für individualisierte therapeutische Entscheidungen zu verbessern - insbesondere durch die Schaffung und den Betrieb eines Forschungszentrums (RC2NB), das Forschungsprojekte einschliesslich sachlicher und personeller Infrastruktur am Universitätsspital Basel respektive an der Universität Basel finanziert und begleitet. Der Stiftungsrat kann die Forschungstätigkeit auf weitere Forschungsgebiete ausdehnen.
