Der Zweck der Stiftung besteht in der nicht kommerziellen und karitativen Förderung von Wissenschaft und Forschung, Ausbildung, Kultur und Information der Öffentlichkeit rund um die Schokolade. Die Stiftung ist weitgehend im Wirtschaftsraum Zürich tätig. Die Stiftung fördert dazu unter anderem folgende Projekte: a) Information der Öffentlichkeit über die Geschichte sowie ökologische, soziale und ernährungs- und gesundheitsrelevante Aspekte der Schokolade und ihres Konsums. Zu diesem Zweck kann die Stiftung insbesondere ein Schokoladen-Museum betreiben, finanzieren/errichten oder mitfinanzieren, separat oder zusammen mit der Bildungsstätte unter Ziff. c) nachstehend; b) Finanzierung oder Mitfinanzierung von Aktivitäten und Stipendien im Bereich der beruflichen Aus- und Weiterbildung innerhalb der Schokoladebranche (Lehrlingsausbildung, höhere Fachprüfungen, Ausbildung in Lebensmitteltechnologie an Fachhochschulen und an der Eidgenössischen Technischen Hochschule usw.); c) Errichtung einer eigenen Bildungsstätte für Lebensmittelwissenschaften, welche jungen Wissenschaftlern (Lebensmitteltechnologen usw.) als Stätte der Aus- und Weiterbildung sowie als Versuchsstätte dienen soll; d) Finanzierung oder Mitfinanzierung von Forschungsprojekten im Bereich Kakao/Schokolade, wie Bekämpfung von Kakaokrankheiten, Sicherstellen einer nachhaltigen Kakaoproduktion.
