Vereinszweck ist (i) die Schärfung des sozialen Bewusstseins für die Themen Armut, Obdachlosigkeit und soziale Ausgrenzung, die Förderung eines verantwortungsvollen Tourismus, die Unterstützung der persönlichen Entwicklung von Stadtführenden und allgemein von Menschen, die Obdachlosigkeit und soziale Ausgrenzung erleben; (ii) die Förderung von Organisationen, die Obdachlose, Arbeitslose oder sozial Randständige darin unterstützen, selbständige Reiseleiter in ihrer eigenen Stadt werden zu können; (iii) der Auf- und Ausbau einer weltweiten Austausch-Plattform für Angebotsleitungen im Bereich sozialer Stadtrundgänge, namentlich durch Auf- und Ausbau eines Netzwerks für Organisationen und Stadtführende, Online-Ressourcen und Öffentlichkeitsarbeit; (iv) die Unterstützung der Stadtführerenden durch Einführung und Erfahrungsaustausch in Themen wie Präsenztraining und Rollenverständnis, Verbesserung der Kommunikation mit verschiedenen Zielgruppen sowie Weiterentwicklung von Touren und Texten; (v) die Unterstützung von Angebotsleitungen im Bereich sozialer Stadtrundgänge durch Wissenstransfer und Workshops in den Bereichen Sozialbegleitung, Biographiearbeit, Vorstellung von Best-Practice Beispielen, Aufbau-Konzepten, Fundraising-Konzepten, Evaluations- und Organisationstools und der Unterstützung neuer Angebotsleitungen beim Aufbau eines Angebots durch Zurverfügungstellung eines Starter-Kits; (vi) die Verbesserung der Sichtbarkeit und der Wirkung von Angeboten im Bereich sozialer Stadtrundgänge durch vermehrte und vernetzte Kommunikations- und Öffentlichkeitsarbeit; (vii) der Auf- und Ausbau sowie Unterhalt einer Homepage zum Thema soziale Stadtrundgänge; (viii) die Organisation und Durchführung einer jährlichen internationalen Konferenz zur Förderung sozialer Stadtrundgänge. Der Verein ist politisch und religiös neutral. Der Verein ist nicht gewinnorientiert.
