Der Verein HAND IN HAND - AFRIKA ist eine humanitäre Organisation mit dem Zweck, die Situation bedürftiger Menschen und Kinder zu verbessern. Kernaufgabe ist die Beschaffung von Mitteln für die Unterstützung von konkreten Projekten. Dies soll insbesondere umgesetzt werden durch: - finanzielle Unterstützung von Familien vor Ort in Südafrika, - durch Sachspenden, - gezielte mittel- und langfristigen Unterstützung von Projekten, die eine nachhaltige Verbesserung der materiellen und sozialen Lebensbedingungen zum Ziel haben (z.B. Waisenhäuser und Sozialeinrichtungen, sowie Hilfe zur Selbsthilfe), - Förderung der schulischen und beruflichen Ausbildung, - humanitäre Hilfeleistungen mit Sofortwirkung, wie z.B. Bereitstellung von Nahrungsmitteln und medizinischen Gütern. Die finanzielle Hilfe kann durch den Einsatz von Freiwilligen (volunteers) ergänzt werden.
