L'Association, dont le principe fondamental sera l'observation des Règles de Golf et du Statut Amateur tels qu'ils sont prescrits par « The R&A Rules Limited », aura pour buts de: a) Constamment améliorer les championnats européens et matchs internationaux. b) Favoriser les meilleures opportunités pour les meilleurs joueurs européens. c) Être l'autorité responsable du handicapping et coordonner l'évaluation de parcours en Europe. d) Agir en tant que représentant officiel des membres de l'EGA auprès de l'Union Européenne en matière de développement environnemental durable du golf et d'autres domaines législatifs. e) Encourager le lien entre les autorités de golf nationales membres pour l'amélioration du golf. f) Créer et maintenir des relations avec les instances de golf au niveau international.
