Der Verein verfolgt gemeinnützige und soziale Zwecke. Er bezweckt die Versorgung der Bevölkerung in der Stadt Zürich und in der Agglomeration mit spitalexternen Diensten in medizinischem, pflegerischem, sozialem und gesundheitserhaltendem Sinne. Der Verein bezweckt die Verwirklichung einer bedarfsorientierten Begleitung, Betreuung und Pflege zu Hause (Spitex). Er stellt Dienstleistungen sicher, die es der Bevölkerung ermöglicht, ihre Selbständigkeit in einem hohen Grad zu erhalten. Dort, wo der Verein nicht selber Träger einer Dienstleistung ist, kann er mit anderen Organisationen entsprechende Verträge abschliessen. Der Verein kann durch Beschluss des Vorstandes weitere Aufgaben übernehmen, die dem Vereinszweck dienen.
