Die Stiftung hat den Zweck, für das ewige Licht in der Pfarrkirche von Näfels sämtliche Kosten zur Anschaffung des Lichtöls, der Ölkerzen und dergleichen sowie alle Kosten für Reparaturen oder Ersatzanschaffung von Gegenständen, die dem Betrieb des ewigen Lichts dienen, zu übernehmen. Die Stiftung will die seit 1357 bestehende Tradition des ewigen Lichts von Näfels erhalten und weiterführen. Sie kann zudem pro Jahr höchstens einen Anlass mit einem finanziellen Beitrag unterstützen. Ein solcher Anlass muss vom Kirchenrat Näfels bewilligt worden sein und in der Pfarrkirche Näfels stattfinden. Die Stiftung ist gemeinnützig, sie verfolgt keine kommerziellen Zwecke und erstrebt keinen Gewinn.
