Zweck des Vereins ist die Führung der "Cité St-Justin", die Studierenden günstigen Wohnraum, preiswerte Verpflegung und Räumlichkeiten für die Bildung zur Verfügung stellt. Die Cité St- Justin fördert insbesondere Studierende aus Entwicklungsländern; bei der Zuteilung von Wohnraum haben studierende aus Entwicklungsländern oder aus Ländern, deren Staatsangehörige besondere Schwierigkeiten haben, eine Unterkunft zu finden, Vorrang. Die Cité St-Justin setzt sich zudem zum Ziel, Studierende mit niedrigem Einkommen unabhängig ihrer Staatsangehörigkeit zu unterstützen; Anfragen von Studierenden, die ihr Studium ausschliesslich mit eigener Arbeit finanzieren, von Stipendiaten, deren Stipendium die Grundbedürfnisse nur teilweise deckt, von Personen mit ungenügenden privaten Zuwendungen, werden wohlwollend geprüft und erhalten, wenn immer möglich, eine positive Antwort; Zimmer können mit ermässigtem Preis und günstigen Zahlungsbedingungen angeboten werden. Die Cité St-Justin sieht sich als Lebensschule, wo Toleranz und Gleichberechtigung zwischen Völkern, Religionen und Kulturen gepflegt werden. Der Verein hat gemeinnützigen Charakter und ist nicht gewinnorientiert. Der Verein kann bewegliches und unbewegliches Vermögen erwerben und besitzen, er kann Gaben und Vermächtnisse entgegennehmen und jede Art von Tätigkeit entfalten, die den Vereinszweck fördert.
