L'associazione non ha scopo di lucro, ma ha quale finalità di sostenere e promuovere l'operato culturale eseguito da oltre trent'anni nel campo del teatro e dello spettacolo in genere da Michel Poletti, nella sua qualità di artista creatore e di promotore culturale, attraverso: a) la preservazione della memoria, dello spirito e dell'eredità culturale di quanto realizzato in Ticino da Michel Poletti assieme alla moglie Michèle dal 1969 al 1994 attraverso la creazione di spettacoli teatrali originali con marionette e altre tecniche teatrali, la diffusione del Teatro di Animazione nella Svizzera Italiana, l'organizzazione di rassegne quale il Festival Internazione delle Marionette, la riapertura e la gestione del Teatro San Materno di Ascona ed altre iniziative significative per la scena culturale del Cantone; b) il sostegno morale, amministrativo e logistico alle iniziative intraprese da Michel Poletti dal 1995 in poi, e in particolare agli spettacoli teatrali detti del "Teatro Antonin Artaud - Compagnia Michel Poletti"; c) il sostegno morale, amministrativo e logistico alle nuove iniziative che Michel Poletti potrà intraprendere a partire dal 1999 per dare un ulteriore contributo alla scena culturale.
